Have you ever gone on vacation or tried to enjoy yourself on a weekend only to find that you just can't relax? Your mind is still back at the office or school. At home, the lawn chair looks inviting but the household chores are also there. Nude recreation helps your body relax faster. When your clothes come off, so do many of the bonds that hold you to the everyday world. This is why so many people say that nude recreation or nude camping can provide them with a week's worth of relaxation in just a weekend.

As an Niagara Naturists and AANR member you can access hundreds of affiliated resorts and clubs where you can visit in a safe environment, all while supporting AANR's efforts to educate the public and policymakers about the nudist philosophy.

One myth surrounding nudism is that you have to have a slim and toned body to join a naturist club or place.

Naturism is not about showing off how fit, toned and tanned you are. It's about acceptance of people just as they are, regardless of what they look like. On a nude beach, no body is perfect, and everyone has flaws.

There are all types of bodies, and no one should feel like they're not good-looking enough to be there. A naturist setting is the one place where you can feel like you are good enough!

Being nude is fun, healthy, and good for the soul. It promotes body acceptance and awareness, age acceptance, freedom, self-esteem, self-confidence, and celebrates one of God's greatest creations. Naturally, nudity keeps the body from the restrictions of clothing, which shift and compress our bodies, and exposes the body to the air and sun, which has numerous health benefits. The more aware we are of our bodies, the more likely we are to keep a healthy and active lifestyle. But we will also be less judgmental of others who don't have the stereotypical and hyped "perfect" body.

Being nude also enhances social interaction with others. Nudists are bank tellers, housewives, bartenders, teachers, waitresses, priests, judges, college students, truck drivers, and professors who enjoy the unrestricted feeling of being clothes-free. Many times clothing indicates social status. Some people would feel intimidated talking with a lawyer, judge, school teacher, truck driver, or others. Without clothes, you can't tell who people are. They are people who are open-minded enough to recognize their bodies as good, not something to be ashamed of or lusted after. Friendships are formed that can last a lifetime.
